The 1 Sound, 1 Week Challenge

1. Get a copy of the Ultimate British, Australian or American Package

Use the British, Australian, or American Accent Full Program to practise and take part in the one week challenge so you can improve your pronunciation quickly!

2. Choose 1 Pronunciation Sound or Element to Work on for the Week

Choose any element of English pronunciation ie. a consonant or vowel sound or an element like stress patterns e.g. the voiced ‘th’ consonant or the ‘i’ vowel. Work on only that sound or element for 1 whole week by listening and repeating using the audios in your Speak More Clearly program. If you’re thinking “I’m so busy, how will I have time to practise every day?” Even, just 15 minutes a day will be enough for you to start to make progress with your pronunciation.

3. Film yourself at the Beginning of the Week

Film yourself at the beginning of the week saying some words and sentences with your chosen sound (you can use your Speak More Clearly course to get words and sentences with the sound you’re working on; simply go to the section of the course that has the sound you’re working on and you will find lots of words and phrases to practise with).

It’s so easy – You can use your smartphone, camera, webcam – just make sure we can see you and hear you clearly. You don’t need a big elaborate professional set up, just pick up your camera and get started! You can even call a friend and have them record you via skype, we use Pamela for skype recordings.

P.s. Make sure you include your name, where your from, your profession and what country you’re in!

4. Practise your Pronunciation!

Practise everyday listening and repeating with the native speakers in the course. Work on only that sound or element for 1 whole week by listening and repeating using the audios in your Speak More Clearly program. If you’re thinking “I’m so busy, how will I have time to practise every day?” Even, just 15 minutes a day will be enough for you to start to make progress with your pronunciation.

5. Film yourself at the End of the Week

Film yourself at the end of the week saying the same sentences and words you said in your ‘before’ film at the beginning of the week.

6. Send your Video in

Send your videos in to us at leeat@speakmoreclearly.com and we will post it for you and share it with our Speak More Clearly community! Just like we did with Cherry’s first video here. Congratulations Cherry!

p.s. make sure you send in both the before and after videos so we can put them together like we have done with Cherry’s here.

7. Repeat with a New Sound, Each Week for 3 Weeks

Once you have finished your first week, choose a new element of English pronunciation that you want to work on and each weeks for 3 more weeks. The challenge is 4 weeks long total. Make sure you film yourself at the beginning and end of each week so we can track your progress and share your success with our supportive community.

After 4 weeks of the challenge you will have much clearer pronunciation in English and will be well on your way to changing your accent in English (and you will have had lots of fun doing it!). Sometimes it’s hard to tell if you’re making progress or not on your own so this challenge is a great way to really be able to see your incredible results. It is also a really effective technique to speed up your progress and become more fluent and clear in English quickly!

P.s. We have are having a sale at the moment – till Dec 21st only – buy the British accent, American accent or Australian accent package now and don’t miss out!
